Welcome to Storey Aviation, the authorized full service dealer for Composite FX and it's XE Series line of personal helicopters for central US. We are located in Tennessee and we are here to help you achieve your goal of safely purchasing, building, registering and maintaining your very own personal helicopter from start to finish.
When purchasing through Storey Aviation, all kit prices are the same as the factory except for the dealer offered options and hourly services as we don't have the overhead that the factory has.
We are dedicated to suppling unpresidented customer service before, during and after any sale or service.
This website is designed with the first time buyers perspective in mind along with a lot of information for current owners as well, and not strictly as a sales website of "here are our products".
Yes, we do list the different models of the XE Series helicopters, their standard specifications and our build assist programs and services, but we've worked to also include a lot of the extra information that the first time buyers need to know, just like I needed to know back when I was looking for my first helicopter kit in 2015.
Be sure to keep checking our website often as we update frequently. Especially the BLOGS/FOR SALE page as it is our most updated page with monthly information pertaining to Mosquito XE Seires helicopters.
New! We have now started a FOR SALE section on our BLOG/FORSALE page.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
The Worlds largest air show, Oshkosh AirVenture.
WOW! What a crazy, fun, action packed week. Long hours talking to lots of people in the Composite FX booth with demonstration flights everyday from 11:30 to 2:30. With 6 days of flying, I ended up going through almost 100 gallons of JetA out of the 140 gallons that I took. I had lots of fun putting my Mosquito XET through it paces and ended up flying an average of 5 flights per day. If you were in the area during the designated rotorcraft time slot for flying, you knew there was a Mosquito turbine in the air! For those that knew what I did in the 90’s for Horizon, it’s just like old times. Except the helicopters are bigger and way more fun. LOL!!! Got the chance to meet old friends and make some new ones.
Composite FX swept the highly coveted "Lindy Awards" (Charles Lindbergh) with my good friend Mike Messex taking First Place Grand Champion for Experimental Helicopters with his beautiful highly polished Purple/Silver Mosquito XE290 prototype. I somehow managed to take Reserve Grand Champion with my Mosquito XET.
I have to say that I’ve been to Oshkosh AirVenture many times before but as this was my first year to fly demonstration flights at Oshkosh/AirVenture, I've never been so involved and active with the many, many volunteer workers. I now have a greater appreciation for all the volunteers and the hard work they do to help keep all the flying aircraft safe, and to make the air show a success. Kudos to you guys!
I'm look forward to seeing everyone again next year at the Composite FX booth and out on the flight line at the 2022 EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh!

What is the XE Series
At the heart of the XE Series line of helicopters lies the proven and well known Mosquito Air. The Mosquito Air was basically replaced with the XEL (part 103 legal) once the XE fuselage series line of helicopters was introduced. As of 2019, the Mosquito Air kit is no longer available but is still supported. The XE was the next variant to be released followed by the XET and XE285.
The XE Series line of helicopters all share the same fuselage, rotor head, tail rotor and mechanics, and in a hover, basically have the same feel, responsiveness and stability. However, the differences between each models powerplant is pretty substantial.
Be sure to check out our XE SERIES MODELS page for a quick review of how each of the powerplants between the different models evolved.
